I think it is the waste of all that beautiful wood that I find most offensive. Cardboard will be fine thanks. Probably cremation too as I do have drugs in the system and maybe some trees like my Dad/ grandma/etc.

I really like this post and I completely agree. Not only do I just want to be buried in a simple shroud of sorts, I want no chemicals involved. Just back to the earth. I have even taken this one step further and explained to my daughter that when we die our bodies are buried and become part of the earth helping to grow and nurture many other plants and animals. She loves the idea and death isn't such a taboo for her as I see it is with other kids. Thanks for the neat post! x

I'd love to be turned into a herb garden but given the sorts of drugs I need to keep my lungs going, I suspect that would be silly ... I'd make the soil toxic, as you mention about cancer patients in your post.

Cremation removes the toxins satisfactorily, and the remaining ash is excellent compost. I'm good with cremation in a plain cardboard coffin and then used as a starter for a garden.

I couldn't agree more! The only people that fancy caskets and all these toxins benefit are those who are making money from these ridiculous practices. I too would be happy with the compost heap, or maybe the base of a tree with a little plaque saying how awesome I was! ;)
